Interactive Advent Calendars

Merry Christmas!

We have made interactive Advent Calendars.  First we used Pic Collage to create a background and added on the 25 days before Christmas.  Next, we uploaded the photo to Think Link and added in the 25 Christmas facts we found on the Internet!

Click on the links below to interact with our calendars!
(You may need to view your Internet browser at 50/75% as the pictures are quite big!)

Word Cloud

In Shark Class we created our own Connective Word Cloud using an iPad app.  We then used these connectives to join our sentences together for our Key Note presentation ready for our Landing Pad!  We can not wait to show these to our parents as we are all very proud of them!

Here is a Word Cloud created from the most popular words in our blog!

Pic Collage Instructional iBooks made in Book Creator on iPad

Over the past two weeks we have been looking at instructional texts.  We decided that we would make our own instructional books all about Pic Collage.  Pic Collage is a great app that we have used in many different lessons (have a look at other blog posts for some examples!)

First, we learnt all about instructions, their features and what we needed to include when we wrote our own.  Then we explored the app Book Creator on iPad and began our books.

Mr Bennett is currently working out how we can upload our iBooks onto iTunesU! While he is working this out, you can see our books in the video below! Enjoy and please feel free to post comments below!

Presenting using Tellagami

Over the past two weeks we have been learning about newspaper reports. Last week we wrote a report about an event from our class book and this week we have written reports about a real life event.

Last year, a giraffe was killed in a zoo in Copenhagen and fed to the other animals! Find out why by watching our news reports.

We would love to see your comments after watching our amazing reports.  This idea came from Lee Parkinson's blog @ICT_MrP

Coding!

Shark Class are really enjoying learning how to code and write instructions.  When the codes do not work it is really annoying but when they do work it is AMAZING!

We are using learn.code.org So far we have completed the introduction and The Artist and we are currently writing code for Flappy Birds.

If you know any other coding websites or apps please let us know!

Skitch newspaper instructions

This week we are starting our unit of work on writing instructions.  We have started off by using Skitch to highlight the features of an instructional text.

Over the next two weeks we will be using Book Creator on the iPads to create our own instructional books.  These will then be uploaded to iTunesU for the whole world to download and read!
